Today the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, today January 3, 2023, has officially removed the announcement to prevent public meetings and allow political parties to start holding those meetings in accordance with the procedure laid down in accordance with the law and regulations President Samia made the statement at the State House in Dar es Salaam while talking to various leaders of political parties in the country where he said it is the right of political parties to hold public meetings and asked them to use that opportunity to do civil and constructive politics instead of tearing down the country "The duty of your political parties is to follow the laws and regulations as they say, but as gentlemen and civil servants, I ask you very much that we give permission for meetings, let's go and do civil politics, to mature and build and not to tear down" In addition, President Samia has emphasized that the procedure for holding the meetings will continue by providing information to the security agencies to obtain permits while saying that in the current situation such permits will be allowed "It is right for political parties to hold their public meetings, but my brothers, we have a responsibility, to the government our responsibility is to protect the meetings of political parties, you give us information as the law says, the institutions give permission, if they see there is a danger they do not give permission, but with measures when we arrived, permission to hold meetings will be given" In another step, President Samia has said that he will soon form a special committee to advise on the amendment of the new constitution and the best way to go about it while stressing that the process will be civilized to get the best constitution for Tanzanians.
